City Covered - Delhi / Alwar / Sariska / Delhi Duration - 2 Days / 1 Nights Fairy Queen was built in 1855 by Kitson, Thompson & Hewitson od UK for the erstwhile East Indian Railway (EIR). After 53 years of glorious years of working for the EIR, its service was stopped and it became a part of National Rail Museum New Delhi but after its complete overhauling in 1996 it started spreading its glory between Delhi and Alwar. Now it takes tourists to this route to enable them visit the famous Sariska Tiger Reserve with a grand hospitality.

| It Is Unique : The Fairy Queen is the holder of a unique place in the Guiness Book of World Records under the world's oldest still running locomotive, National Tourism Award holder. Truely it's a Heritage Journey. Facilities - Welcome aboard : The two-day tour includes everything- accomodation in Sariska Palace Hotel, all meals, refreshments, snacks, soft drinks, Jungle safari in the Tiger reserve. The compartments have recently been refurnished with good airconditions and interiors. Main Tourist Attractions : Alwar (Rajasthan)- the famous Tiger reserve, Jeep safari in the reserve, Cultural programme at Sariska Palace.
History Earlier worked from Howrah to Raniganj (121 miles) on EIR 1895 Christened as “Fairy Queen” 1908 Stopped Service 1971 First exhibit of National Rail Museum 1996 Completely overhauled in Perambur workshop of Southern Railway 1997 Revived for working on main line. Chair car for carrying 60 passenger and service car including Generator (230V supply) & Compressor (Air Brakes for the train) readied for the engine to work commercial trips. 18.07.97 First commercial trip 13.01.98 Certification of Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s oldest working locomotives 25.01.99 National Tourism award given by Prime Minister of India for the most innovative & unique tourism project.
